The Irregular Word deck contains 80 cards.  Each card contains a word that does not follow the frequent reading patterns in English. The cards have a clipped corner to create an irregular shape and remind the user the words are pronounced in an unexpected or irregular way.  The words reflect the order of instruction outlined in Accurate and Automatic Reading (AAR) and are numbered to reflect the order of concept introduction and reading practice where the words first occur. The Irregular Word Deck is  a useful tool in any Structured Literacy Program.
