Data drive decisions about whole and small group literacy instruction. Data help teachers determine small group core instruction, small group intervention instruction, and small group focused (work stations) instruction. Teachers place students in different groups according to their strengths and weaknesses as identified on the bell curve. Placement in groups is flexible. The use of post-it notes and the placement folders make the arranging and rearranging of group members easy.
